We went to Beauty and the Beast at the Toby’s Dinner theater that was opened up in Baltimore, in canton. I was very impressed with the new Toby’s place. Well its more like a second Toby’s. The original is still running in Columbia. The great thing about it is, I think both theater’s have a different appeal to me. The one in Canton is a more traditional stage, which is cool. I imagine they can do more traditonal stuff with props, which is great for some bigger shows. The Columbia one is more a pit. where the stage is the floor in the center of all the tables. Laurie and I have always been right on the floor, which i really like for some reason. I think its because i think its cool to be right next to all the actors. Seeing little cues they give to each other, stuff you woulnd’t normally recognize.
But yes it was Laurie’s birthday which was great we had a lot of people come from her family, as well as my parents came down to see the play as well. It was great they could come. Then everybody came back to the house to see what we’ve done with the place. Many hadn’t been to see it yet, and my parents hadn’t seen it since move in day.
All in all the whole weekend rocked.
And Happy birthday Laurie ;) .. ok sure this is a day or two late for the blog.. but i did get it ontime in real life!!!

So now that we had a great coat for the beige color on the wall we decided to test the waters for the green. We put it up on a test wall. Laurie and I both look at it. I looks eh… it could be livable. It really doesn’t look that bad, but its not great. It pretty much would be the same situation as the brown. The brown was livable it didn’t look terrible, it was just so so, not our taste. So basically we went from do-do brown, to puke green. What the hell were we thinking!!!!!!

Well i had a few problems at the start of the mod, since i have a v1.0 XBOX i bought it shortly after launch. Its given me a good run, a very good investment to say the least. I guess that sounded like a eulogy for the thing. Well its not… at least not yet. Currently the box is totally disassembled. The biggest problem i had was I needed to de-solder these LPC holes. in later versions of the XBOX these holes are conveniently clean. Not exactly sure why MS would make it easier to m0d in later versions, but whatever, screws me up since i have a v1.0 xbox anyways. It was a frustrating long process, and my holes no longer look very good. In fact i have no idea if anything at all let alone the mod chip will work when I get the thing all back together and turned on. I’m sort of just hoping now. I’m just proud of getting it all out. I’ll take victory that i cleaned out all the holes, even if it got fried in the process. Anyways.. currently the mod is soldered in good to the board, and the only steps i have left is to put it back together and turn it on, then load whatever i need to load.
Here’s hoping it actually turns on again, Let alone the mod works. Keep at watch out for future posts about the progress, whether it be victory or death cert for the xbox.
(i figure if it doesn’t work it just gives me some grease to getting an XBOX360 muhahaha)

It was decided sometime a week or so ago, that this particular weekend was go time to ‘finally’ repaint the living room as well as its adjoining walls. This means all the way up the stairs, down the hallway to the front door, and of course the living room itself. I was a little edgy at first, but when it came down to it, i think somewhere in me was itching to paint and get it done with. Plus, it’d be nice to have our own colors in the living room.
The leadin to the weekend was spent taping and painting shoe molding white. The original colors we picked were intended to be a sage green as an accent wall and a lighter beige color. The house had originally a darker beige on the walls that was fairly nice, and this dark ‘doo-doo’ brown as Laurie refers to it. We liked the beige alright, hated the brown. So the idea was to get a lighter color for the beige and a soft sage green for the other accent walls.
Then the spackleing and primer began.. it took a while, we were up till 2am on Friday night, but it got done. By far my least favorite part of painting. Saturday morning comes, and I begin to put the beige on. The paint looks OK in the can, the little blob they put on top of the lid looks like what we wanted. I put it on the walls and……..
Houston we have a problem…
